The PS3 sold 23,897 units between Oct. 17 to Oct. 23 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 28,596 to rank third the week prior.
The hardware ranked five titles in the top 10, including Namco Bandai Games Inc.’s Gekijouban Macross F: Sayonara no Tsubasa at No. 1, Dead Island at No. 5, EA Inc.’s FIFA 12 at No. 6, Konami Corp.’s World Soccer Winning Eleven 2012 at No. 7, and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon at No. 8.
In addition, the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition ranked in the top 25 this week at GameStop Corp.’s online division due to strong demand.
Finally, the Playstation 3 320GB Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Bundle ranked in the top 50 sales at Amazon.com Inc. amid building advanced sales.
Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Inc., announced the production of Grand Theft Auto V.

Developer Bioware Inc. and EA Inc. this week detailed the Galaxy at War co-op mode for Mass Effect 3.
In the Galaxy at War mode, up to four-players can co-op to defeat waves of enemies.
