EA Inc. this week said servers for Battlefield 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC are back online after a second outage post launch of the title.

On Oct. 27, developer DICE confirmed outages for the 360 servers and later said both the PS3 and 360 servers were back online.

On Fri. it said would perform server maintenance to improve stability for all platforms and disabled online connectivity for one hour.

On launch day, the title incurred a similar server issue and was taken offline for maintenance.

The developer and publisher did not cite reasons for the server issues, though the large capacity of online customers joining online matches at launch could have hampered the network.

Battlefield 3, which began sale Oct. 25, includes the Frostbite 2 engine, online vehicle warfare with land, sea, and air vehicles, and combat across the U.S., Europe, and Middle East.

The final game includes a single-player campaign, multiplayer mode for up to 24 users, and new online co-op missions.

This week, customers who purchase the Battlefield 3 PS3 SKU or the Xbox 360 SKU will receive a $10 Bonus.
