On Wed., the publisher took servers offline again for further maintenance before restoring them shortly after.
By Thurs. EA said it was working to resolve network issues for PC players and Xbox 360 users.
The publisher did not cite reasons for the server issues, though the large capacity of online customers joining online matches at launch could have hampered the network.
Battlefield 3, which began sale Oct. 25, includes the Frostbite 2 engine, online vehicle warfare with land, sea, and air vehicles, and combat across the U.S., Europe, and Middle East.
The final game includes a single-player campaign, multiplayer mode for up to 24 users, and new online co-op missions.
