T-Mobile USA Inc. this week said it will release LG Corp.’s LG DoublePlay to U.S. retail.
The LG DoublePlay includes a 3.5-inch main display and a 2-inch sub-display flanked between a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The two screens can be used independently or in tandem. For example, a user could update their Facebook status with the main screen or surf the web on the sub-screen.
The final device includes a 1Ghz Qualcomm CPU, 5MP camera, 720p HD camcorder, and Google Inc.’s Android 2.3 OS.
A release date is to be determined.
New T-Mobile smartphone products include HTC Corp.’s HTC Amaze 4G and the The Samsung Galaxy S II.
The T-Mobile 4G network currently serves 100 major U.S. markets. It plans to expand and double the speed of its 4G network in 2011.
