Retail stores Fri. will begin brick and mortar sales of Apple Inc.’s new iPhone 4S post pre-order sellout of the device.

Retailers, including Target Corp., Best Buy Co. Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Apple Stores will offer sale of the iPhone 4S Oct. 14.

In addition wireless carrier retail locations from AT&T Inc., Verizon Wireless, and Sprint Nextel Corp. will begin in-store sales.

Launch demand is expected to be high following an online pre-order sellout in advance of the launch.

AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint have all sold out of initial pre-order online stock of the HREF=”″>iPhone 4S due to high demand and disclaim backordered wait times for shipment of the product.

Apple this week said pre-order sales for the iPhone 4S have topped 1 million units in the first 24 hours of pre-order sales.

The iPhone 4S will include the A5 Dual-Core CPU, 8MP camera, 1080p HD video recording functionality, iOS 5, and a new voice command protocol called Suri.

Suri can call, text, email, remind, and offer weather, stock, traffic, direction, and definition information via voice commands.

Battery is said to offer 8 hours of 3G talk time and 10 hours of video.

Additionally, the device will merge CDMA and GSM antennas into one world phone device.

The 16GB SKU will sell at $199, 32GB at $299 and 64GB at $399.

The iPhone utilizes the iOS operating system used in iPod Touch and iPad 2 products.

Verizon Wireless holds 106 million subscribers, AT&T Inc. holds 96 million subscribers, and Sprint currently holds 52 million subscribers.
