Pre-order sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for the Xbox 360 ranked in the top 20 this week at Inc. due to building demand for the remaster SKU.

This week, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary ranked as the No. 16 best-selling product in Amazon’s Video Games division.

Microsoft in Aug. said Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will include 3D functionality and new multiplayer maps to be included in the HD remaster.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will include stereoscopic 3D functionality for 3D HDTV owners.

New remastered maps include Timberland, Prisoner and Installation 04.

Customers who pre-order the title will receive the Master Chief Avatar Armor to outfit an Xbox Live Avatar with the MJOLNIR Armor and the Grunt Funeral Skull to activate a Grunt’s methane tank to explode like a Plasma Grenade.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a remastered high-definition version of the launch title for the original Xbox in 2001.

The title will include full Xbox Live functionality and remastered multiplayer maps.

It carries a pre-sale price of $39.99 and will be sold Nov. 15.

The previous title in the series, Halo: Reach, was sold in 2010.

Microsoft in Sept. began sale of the limited edition Xbox 360 320GB Gears of War 3 Bundle at $399.99.

In 2012 it will sell the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Star Wars Kinect Bundle at $449.99.

Current Xbox 360 stand-alone SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB hardware at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99.

Bundle SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle at $399.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle at $299.99.
