Best Buy Co. Inc. this month began pre-order sales for Apple Inc.’s iPhone 4S for AT&T Inc. and Verizon Wireless.

The retailer is holding iPhone 4S 16GB and 32GB SKU pre-order sales at store locations. The 64GB SKU pre-order for AT&T customers is available via

AT&T Inc. Fri. said it pre-sold 200,000 iPhone 4S units due to high demand from customers.

iPhone 4S will include the A5 Dual-Core CPU, 8MP camera, 1080p HD video recording functionality, iOS 5, and a new voice command protocol called Suri.

Suri can call, text, email, remind, and offer weather, stock, traffic, direction, and definition information via voice commands.

Battery is said to offer 8 hours of 3G talk time and 10 hours of video.

Additionally, the device will merge CDMA and GSM antennas into one world phone device.

The 16GB SKU will sell at $199, 32GB at $299 and 64GB at $399.

Apple in Oct. did not announce the next main update to the iPhone family, iPhone 5.

A prior report claimed the iPhone 5 will include at least a 4-inch touch-screen display and a thinner profile.

The iPhone utilizes the iOS operating system used in iPod Touch and iPad 2 products.

Verizon Wireless holds 106 million subscribers, AT&T Inc. holds 96 million subscribers, and Sprint currently holds 52 million subscribers.
