A mobile advertising firm this week said users of Research in Motion Ltd.’s Blackberry and Google Inc.’s Android OS will purchase Apple Inc.’s new iPhone 5.

In a survey by inMobi, 52 percent of Blackberry users and 27 percent of Android users plan to switch to the new iPhone.

Additionally, 51 percent of current iPhone users surveyed plan to upgrade to the latest model.

Apple this week invited select media to an iPhone event scheduled for Oct. 4 with the words, “Let’s Talk iPhone”.

The New York Times in Sept. reported the iPhone 5 will include the A5 dual-core CPU and include an 8MP digital camera.

In addition, A prior report claimed the iPhone 5 will include at least a 4-inch touch-screen display and a thinner profile.

The iPhone utilizes the iOS operating system used in iPod Touch and iPad 2 products.
