Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil 4 for the Playstation Network division of Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and the Xbox Live division of Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 is a sharp remake of the entry that offers intense scares in a full high-definition.
In Resident Evil 4, Leon Kennedy, now a U.S. secret service agent, travels to Europe to rescue the daughter of the President of the United States. He soon discovers the locals have been infected by a new virus different from prior undead zombies.
Resident Evil 4 controls are exact to the prior versions, with context-sensitive maneuvers like ‘Jump Over’ and ‘Knock Down’ to evade enemies and ‘Push’ to move objects over windows to delay entry.
The mob AI is still the best of the series with enemies able to dodge bullets, rush at all angles, and attack with vigor.
The graphics engine is superb at 30 frames-per-second. The 2005 entry looks like a brand new next-generation title, with upgraded textures, models, and solid lighting effects. Additionally, font sizes have been increased to offer more legible text in HD.
The sound engine is solid with taunts and groans for Los Ganados, in addition clear firearm fidelity.
Resident Evil 4 is a masterpiece, remastered in high-definition. The classic survival horror play, mobbed with intense AI and creepy locales deliver a brand new experience for new and veteran users.
