Media Create Co. this week said the Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked second in hardware sales in the latest Japan retail activity.
The PS3 sold 33,831 units between Aug. 29 to Sept. 4 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 33,141 to rank third the week prior.
The hardware ranked two titles in the top 10, including Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter Freedom 3 HD. Version at No. 2 with 52,792 copies sold.
The company this week said despite inventory constraints in the first two weeks of Aug., PS3 hardware sales were very strong in the remaining half.
The PSP sold 30,199 units for the week to rank at No. 3 in Japan.
The PSP go sold 7 units to rank No. 10 for the week.
The PSP ranked five titles in the top 10, including Grand Knights History at No. 1, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows at No. 7, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Giran’s Ambition at No. 8.
