Apple Inc.’s next iPhone may include a larger screen and thinner profile according to cases previewed for the device.

Consumer website MacRumors this week claims the new iPhone 5 will include a 4-inch screen at minimum and will be .30-inches at its thickest.

The website based the measurements from a purchased iPhone 5 case that measures 4.7-inches by 2.6-inches.

The current iPhone 4 includes a 3.5-inch screen and a width of .37 inches.

The iPhone utilizes the iOS operating system used in iPod Touch and iPad 2 products.

Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 5 in Oct.

Apple in July said it sold 20.34 million iPhone units in the third quarter, an increase of nine percent from the second quarter. The company sold 33 million iOS devices in Q3.
