Samsung Group this week said the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone will be sold at U.S. carriers, including Sprint Corp., T-Mobile Inc. and AT&T Inc.
The Samsung Galaxy S II, which operates Google Inc.’s Android 2.3 OS, will be sold as the Epic 4G Touch via Sprint Sept. 16 at under $200 with contract.
The Samsung Galaxy S II will be sold to T-Mobile Inc. and AT&T this fall.
The device includes a Dual-Core CPU, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 4G functionality, Samsung TouchWiz user interface, accelerometer, gyroscope, Media Hub, 8MP camera with 1080p HD video functionality, 2MP front-facing camera, and 16GB memory.
Accessories will include a multimedia dock, vehicle dock, battery charging stand and HDTV adapter.
The U.S. launch follows debuts in Europe and Korea, where it has sold 5 million units in 85 days since launch to become Samsung’s fastest selling smartphone.
