U.S. retailers this week price cut Nintendo Co.’s Wii Mario Kart Bundle to under $130 this week amid slowing sales of the hardware.

This week, Target Corp. and Amazon.com Inc. price cut the Wii Mario Kart Bundle to $129.99, 13 percent of the $149.99 MSRP.

Nintendo in July said the company held a Q1 net loss of $324 million. For the fiscal year ending Mar. 2012, it expects a profit of $257 million, down 82 percent from a prior forecast.

Wii sales fell to 1.56 million in the quarter, down from 3.04 million one year prior.

Nintendo in May began sale of the Wii Mario Kart Bundle, which includes the Wii hardware, Mario Kart Wii, and a Wii Wheel at an MSRP of $149.99.

In addition, Nintendo in May began sale of new Nintendo Selects titles for Wii at $19.99 each.

The Wii has sold 86 million units worldwide to date since launch in 2006.

New Wii titles in 2011 include Wii Play: Motion with Black Wii Remote Plus SKU and Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be sold this Nov.
