Sony Corp. this week said it has acquired ‘Infamous’ developer Sucker Punch for an undisclosed sum.

Sucker Punch, developer of Playstation exclusive franchises like Infamous and Sly Cooper, will join the development operation of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios.

Sony said sales of franchise titles by Sucker Punch Productions have totaled seven million units worldwide.

Sony in June released Infamous 2 to the Playstation 3.

It will release Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time in 2012.

Sony in May began sale of the PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, which includes the PS3 160GB hardware, a copy of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Pack, and a Dualshock 3 Controller at $299.99.
