Pre-order sales for Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 increased this week at Amazon.com Inc.’s Video Games division this week amid building demand for the sequel.
This week, the Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 SKU held a 23 percent sales increase to rank at No. 17 and the Modern Warfare 3 PS3 SKU held a 26 percent sales increase to rank at No. 46 in Amazon’s Video Games division.
It will be sold Nov. 8.
Modern Warfare 3 is said to include new locations like New York, London and Paris, in addition to several lead characters.
Additionally, the sequel is said to include a co-op survival mode.
The title is said to be in development at Infinity Ward in collaboration with Sledgehammer Studios and Raven Software.
Activision Blizzard in 2010 released Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Sony in May began sale of the PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, which includes the PS3 160GB hardware, a copy of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Pack, and a Dualshock 3 Controller at $299.99.
