EA Inc. this week posted a profit this week amid strong game sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360.

This week, EA reported revenue of $999 million, a 23 percent increase from $815 million revenue one year prior.

Game sales for the PS3 and Xbox 360 generated $653 million in revenue.

The publisher recorded a $221 million Q1 profit, an increase from $96 million one year ago.

Top-selling titles for the quarter included Portal 2, Dead Space 2, and Dragon Age II, each of which have sold more than two million copies to date.

Mobile and handheld sales decreased to $76 million, down seven percent from one year prior.

Finally, NCAA Football 12 has sold 700,000 units in two weeks at retail and pre-order sales for Battlefield 3 are said to be tracking well at retail.
