Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions for the Nintendo 3DS is a solid collection of arcade titles that utilize new 3D functionality and provide quick mobile arcade action.

Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions includes six titles – Pac-Man Tilt, Galaga 3D Impact, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Galaga Legions, Pac-Man, and Galaga.

Pac-Man and Galaga Dimensions

Pac-Man Tilt is a new side-scroller that includes gyroscopic functionality in each level. Users can employ the tilt function to cause Pac-Man to roll down the level at a high-speed, or manipulate the level to build momentum to swinging platforms or turn walls into stairs. Without the tilt function the levels offer standard action and decent level design.

Galaga 3D Impact is a first-person on-rails shooter that offers well-integrated 3D effects and gyroscopic function to allow pilots to move the 3DS around to shoot surrounding enemies. Enemies form in lines and patterns similar to the classic Galaga shooter, with new boss enemies that fly around the user’s environment to relay a nice, immersive cockpit.

Pac-Man Championship Edition is a direct port of the DLC title that offers a new twist to the original with non-stop pellet forming and psychedelic 3D effects.

The standout title in the bundle is Galaga Legions. The DLC shooter is amazing when coupled with the 3D effect, which produces neon traces and explosions with vibrant color and an impressive techno soundtrack. Enemy patterns are intense and perfect for hardcore shooting fans.

The original classics, Pac-Man and Galaga, receive a nice 3D update that offers a cabinet, cocktail or regular view with 3D enhancements. The arcade or cocktail cabinet offer a realistic 3D view of the title as if viewed from an actual arcade unit, and the regular view includes sprites that pop above the backdrop.

Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions is a solid arcade collection. With the standout shooter Galaga Legions, new titles, and updated classics, the compilation packs a 3D mobile punch.
