Media Create Co. this week said the Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in hardware sales in the latest Japan retail activity.
The PS3 sold 22,900 units between July 4 and July 10 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 26,441 the week prior.
The hardware ranked three titles in the top 10, including Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire at No. 1 with 58,436 copies sold.
NPD Group Inc. this week reported that Infamous 2 ranked as the No. 1 software SKU in June.
The company said the three-year, $20 million investment will be used to develop exclusive PSN titles from first-party studios and the Pub Fund – a development cost-matching program to studios that develop exclusive titles for the division.
New titles part of the development plan include Eufloria, Okabu, and Papo & Yo.

Sony will offer AllClear ID Plus at no cost to PSN and Qriocity users for 12 months from the beginning of registration.
