Media Create Co. this week said the Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked third in hardware sales in the latest Japan retail activity.
The PS3 sold 26,441 units between June 26 and July 3 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
By comparison, the hardware sold 16,993 the week prior.
The hardware ranked three titles in the top 10, including Capcom Co.’s Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition at No. 2 with 54,924 copies sold.
Beginning July 12, select PS3 titles will be discounted by 30 percent. Playstation Plus members will receive a 50 percent discount.
Discounted titles include Dead Space Extraction at $10.49, Hard Corps: Uprising at $10.49, Risk: Factions at $6.99, and Scott Pilgrim at $6.99.
Uncharted 3 Multiplayer includes brand new modes, including 3 Team Deathmatch for 2 vs. 2 vs. 2, and Free For All.
The PSN Pass is a one-time use code that must be used to unlock full online access.
Sony this week restored the Playstation Network and Qriocity divisions in Japan following a security breach in May.
The PSP sold 29,871 units between June 26 and July 3 in Japan.
The PSP go sold seven units to rank No. 10 for the week.

The hardware ranked one title in the top 10, Goldeneye 007 at No. 4 with 36,174 copies sold.

The Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Blu-ray SKU, to be sold Oct. 25, will include the Blu-ray and Digital Copy of Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III.
The final product will include special features for all three films.
It carries a pre-sale price of $49.99, 37 percent off the $79.98 MSRP.
