Media Create Co. this week said the Nintendo 3DS sold 30,233 units between June 26 and July 3 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The 3DS ranked two titles in the top 10, including Namco Bandai Holdings Co.’s Tales of the Abyss at No. 1 with 74,173 copies sold and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D at No. 6 with 24,190 units sold for the week.
The PSP sold 29,871 units for the week.
The PSP go sold seven units to rank No. 10 for the week.
The PSP ranked four titles in the top 10, including To Heart 2: Dungeon Travelers at No. 2, Little Battler Experience at No. 5, Stein’s Gate at No. 8, and Mashiro Iro Symphony: Mutsu-no-hana at No. 9.
Nintendo in Apr. said the Nintendo 3DS sold 3.61 million by end of the fiscal Mar., below the company’s four million unit projection.
Nintendo 3DS includes 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
The PSVita will include the dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes. It will utilize flash-memory game cards.
Hardware specifications include an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, front camera, rear camera, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.
The company will partner with AT&T to allow current customers to access Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.
The PSVita Party mode will allow users to chat with nearby owners. In addition, near will allow users to play with friends using their PSN ID.
