Pre-order sales for Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC led sales at GameStop Corp.’s online division due to strong demand.

This week, the Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 SKU ranked at No. 1 and the Modern Warfare 3 PS3 SKU ranked at No. 2 at Gamestop.com.

Additionally, the PC SKU ranked No. 3 in the same period.

The Modern Warfare 3 PS3 SKU, Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 SKU, and PC SKU hold an MSRP of $59.99 each.

It will be sold Nov. 8.

Modern Warfare 3 is said to include new locations like New York, London and Paris, in addition to several lead characters.

Additionally, the sequel is said to include a co-op survival mode.

The title is said to be in development at Infinity Ward in collaboration with Sledgehammer Studios and Raven Software.

Activision Blizzard in 2010 released Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Sony in May began sale of the PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, which includes the PS3 160GB hardware, a copy of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Pack, and a Dualshock 3 Controller at $299.99.

Microsoft in Sept. will sell a new limited edition Xbox 360 320GB Gears of War 3 Bundle at $399.99.

Current Xbox 360 stand-alone SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB hardware at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99.

Bundle SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle at $399.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle at $299.99.
