Pre-order sales for Nintendo Co.’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo 3DS ranked in the top five this week at Amazon.com post demonstration at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this month.
This week, the The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D ranked as the No. 4 best-selling product at Amazon’s Video Games division.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, to be sold June 19, is a remastered version of entry for the Nintendo 64.
The new title will include 3D graphics, touch-screen interface, and new challenges not found in the original game.
The final game will include Master Quest – a second quest with revamped puzzles and redesigned dungeons that feature the same graphical and interface upgrades as the main game.
Nintendo in June released a new system update for the Nintendo 3DS handheld that added an Internet Browser and an online store.
The Nintendo eShop online store includes a free Pokedex 3D application to allow users to view Pokemon from Pokemon Black and Pokemon White in 3D. In addition, users can download the NES title Excitebike in 3D as a free download through July 7.
Upcoming Virtual Console content includes Super Mario Land, Alleyway, and Radar Mission. New content will be added each Thursday.
The company said an application for short-form video service to view 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos will be enabled in the future.
Nintendo released Nintendo 3DS handheld launched with 18 software titles Mar. 27.
Third-party titles include Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, The Sims 3, Madden NFL Football, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, Ridge Racer 3D, Super Monkey Ball, Bust-A-Move Universe, Samurai Warriors, Asphalt 3D, Combat of Giants, Rayman 3D, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars.
Titles carry an MSRP of $39.99 each.
The Nintendo 3DS includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, and a 2GB SD Card.
Functionality includes StreetPass to exchange game data between owners who pass one another.
Additionally, the hardware will include the Nintendo 3DS Camera software, Mii Maker, and the Nintendo eShop to download new software.
Nintendo 3DS includes 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.
In addition, the 3DS is backwards compatible with Nintendo DS and DSi games.
