Bethesda Softworks, a division of ZeniMax Media Inc., this week said user data from the company’s websites has been compromised following an unlawful intrusion to the company’s websites this past weekend.

The company this week said hackers by have gained access to usernames, passwords, and or email addresses used on community forums and a statistics site for the title Brink.

It added that personal data and credit card data was not obtained.

It recommends registered users to immediately change their passwords at the affected sites and to watch for suspicious emails and account activity.

Hacker group LulzSec has claimed responsibility for the hack. The group had previously targeted Sony Corp. and Nintendo Co. websites.

Bethesda is best known for The Elder Scrolls franchise.

New titles to be released include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Prey 2 and Rage.
