Bethesda Softworks this week demonstrated Prey 2 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.

Prey 2 is a first-person shooter title in which users take the role of a bounty hunter.

In the title, users can scan the open city environment for persons who have a bounty on their head. When a target attempts to escape, users have a number of agile abilities in their arsenal during a chase, including sliding into cover, hanging on ledges, and shooting from cover or a ledge in blind or target fire.

Weapons include standard firearms and gadgets like homing missiles.

The final title will account for user decisions to shape perception. For example, an honorable user could receive a discount at a store, while a dishonorable user may be feared on the streets.

The graphics engine was solid at 30 frames-per second with a large futuristic world complimented with gritty textures and neon signs.

The title will be sold in 2012.
