Target Corp. this week price cut Valve Corp.’s Portal 2 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 to under $40 in a new sale.

Through June 4, the Portal 2 PS3 SKU and the Portal 2 Xbox 360 SKU hold a sale price of $39.99, down from the $59.99 MSRP.

The Portal 2 PS3 SKU allows owners to link their Steam and Playstation Network accounts to facilitate cross-platform play between users via the PS3, PC or Mac.

Additionally, the Portal 2 PS3 SKU includes cloud-based storage to allow users to play and continue from the PS3, PC or Mac.

Portal 2 is an action puzzle sequel to the 2007 release Portal.

The final game includes platform and physics-based puzzles, in addition to a two-player co-op mode.

Sony in May began sale of the PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, which includes the PS3 160GB hardware, a copy of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Pack, and a Dualshock 3 Controller at $299.99.

Current Xbox 360 stand-alone SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB hardware at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99.

Bundle SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle at $399.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle at $299.99.
