Microsoft Corp. this week said that the Xbox Live division of the Xbox 360 was not compromised in an outage to the Xbox Live Marketplace May 25.

The company tweeted this week that the online network was not compromised and that user information is safe.

The Xbox Live Marketplace experienced an outage May 25 in which users had difficulty browsing the Games Marketplace from the Xbox 360 console or, browsing the Games for Windows – Live Marketplace from a PC, or browsing Indie Games from the Xbox 360 console or

Other services like Xbox Live gaming, Account and Matchmaking were unaffected.

Sony Corp. in Apr. shut down the Playstation Network and Qrocity divisions following an external intrusion that compromised consumer data.

Playstation Network and Qrocity service was restored on May 15 in most territories.

Current Xbox 360 stand-alone SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB hardware at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99.

Bundle SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle at $399.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle at $299.99.
