Sony Corp. this week detailed new pre-order bonus items for Resistance 3 for the Playstation 3.

Customers who pre-order the title at Inc. will receive access to the Air Fuel Grenade to release a large cloud of flammable vapor in the Resistance 3 single-player campaign.

Best Buy Co. Inc. customers who pre-order will receive a Lt. Nathan Hale Multiplayer Skin.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. customers who pre-order will receive a set of five custom name titles which yield exclusive multiplayer PSN tags.

GameStop Corp. customers will receive a necklace of Chimera teeth and a multiplayer booster to Level 5.

Resistance 3 will be sold Sept. 6, 2011 at U.S. retail.

The title will include a full campaign mode and new two-player online and split-screen co-op functionality.

The final game will include new weapon upgrades and new enemies.

The competitive multiplayer mode will include human vs. Chimera battles in deathmatch and objective-based modes. Users can spend earned points to customize loadouts, including new personal and support abilities.

Support abilities include the Bubble Shield, Ammo Beacon to give ammo to teammates, and Radar Beacon to enhance the team’s radar.

Tactical abilities include Doppelganger to project an image distraction and Dash for a speed burst to evade enemy attacks.

A multiplayer beta is planned for later this year.

The prior installment, Resistance 2, was released in Nov. 2008.

Resistance: Fall of Man was a launch title offering in Nov. 2006.

Sony in May will begin sale of the PS3 160GB Call of Duty: Black Ops Bundle, which includes the PS3 160GB hardware, a copy of Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Pack, and a Dualshock 3 Controller at $299.99.

The PS3 is sold in a 160GB SKU at $299.99 and a 320GB SKU at $349.99.

Playstation Move Console Bundle includes the PS3 320GB SKU, Playstation Move Controller, Playstation Eye, and Sports Champions at $399.99.
