Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox Live division of the Xbox 360 experienced an outage Wed. that limited Marketplace browsing functionality from the console and PCs.

The Xbox Live Marketplace experienced an outage May 25 in which users had difficulty browsing the Games Marketplace from the Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com, browsing the Games for Windows – Live Marketplace from a PC, or browsing Indie Games from the Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com.

Other services like Xbox Live gaming, Account and Matchmaking were unaffected.

Sony Corp. in Apr. shut down the Playstation Network and Qrocity divisions following an external intrusion that compromised consumer data.

Playstation Network and Qrocity service was restored on May 15 in most territories.

Current Xbox 360 stand-alone SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB hardware at $299.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB hardware at $199.99.

Bundle SKUs include the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Special Edition Bundle at $399.99 and the Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect bundle at $299.99.
