Sony Corp. this week said it will sell new PSP Remaster titles to the Playstation 3 hardware.
PSP Remaster titles will be PSP titles customized and developed specifically for the PS3.
Each PSP Remaster title will be sold as a Blu-ray disc game, beginning in the Japan market.
PSP Remaster titles are said to offer high-definition graphics, Dualshock support, add-on content, and stereoscopic 3D support.
Users can utilize their PSP game save data to play via the PS3 and transfer back for mobile play. In addition, Ad-Hoc multiplayer functionality will be enabled via the adhoc party application for the PSP.
The first title to be sold in Japan is Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. The title has sold 4.5 million units in Japan since release in Dec. 2010.
Sony in Jan. said it will the NGP (Next-Generation Portable) handheld in holiday 2011.
The NGP will include the dual analog sticks, a 5-inch multi-touch OLED display, 3G & GPS, front and rear touch panels, and a compass on three axes. It will utilize flash-memory game cards.
Hardware specifications include an ARM Cortex A9 4-core CPU, front camera, rear camera, built-in microphone, and Bluetooth 2.1.
